I walked over to Shadow's stall and pulled a carrot from my pocket and fed it to him. As he chomped I pulled his tack out of the box and opened his stall. He stepped back and let me in. I tacked Shadow up and pulled on his bridle. I led him out of the barn and into the sunlight. Shadow balked and neighed to the other horses. i mounted and kicked him in to a trot. He eagerly moved forward and tried to get his head but i firmly held him. It seemed he would be a hand ful today! He trotted with his neck arched and he watched everything around him. Being a stallion he was very distracted at this age. I rode him out to the meadow and into the woods. He pearked up and stepped out. He broke into a short canter and squealed at a bird that fled from him.

I brought him back to an energetic trot and checked around us. *He usually didn't spook this easily. He must smell something* i thought He balked and did a half rear at a rabbit next to the trail. He bolted and tried to get his head again. I got him to a walk and stopped him. i got off and check the girth and the saddle pad. He danced around me the whole time. *There isn't any thing here* I put his tack back on and tried to turn him around. Then i saw the problem There on the trail was another horse!

The other horse stood and stared at Shadow with scared eyes. She looked shaggy and thin. i stepped towards her but she bounded away. All the sudden a Ghostly white stallion pound through the woods. He stopped and screamed a challenge to Shadow who cowered behind me (the silly horse) I waved my hands and the Stallion bounded away. I hopped on Shadow and kicked him into a smooth canter. I rode towards the barn just in time to see Alex and Lizzy go onto the track with their horses.
