As i trotted Gunner on the track (he is now 2) He shied at everything. Being highstrung and a thoroughbred didn't help. I kept him in check and then at the half mile let him out a little. He kicked into a smooth canter but wouldn't put him head down. he was watching everything. Then i though of a trick. I fiddled with the reins to remind him who was with him. Heis ears finally flicked back and he cantered smoothly on. He was doing great. I saw another horse on the track but couldn't see the rider. The horse was galloping but thankfully Gunner hadn't seen him. Suddenly gunner's head went up asnd he snorted. He had seen the other horse. He stopped and shook. I knew what was going to happen next. I held on as he shot forward with all his strength. The reins slipped from my hand. I hadn't expected him to have that much strength! I tried to keep him in a slow gallop but he fought. As soon as he was past the other horse he slowed and his ears went up. I noticed the other horse and rider was molly on Beleiveitornot.

I hopped off gunner and cooled him out. that was intense for his first track work out. I hadent even intended to gallop him let alone breeze him!!
